We are excited to announce that our global community just become bigger! Today we would like to welcome Towheed Iranian School to join BWB Club Schools. No matter how our political or religious worldview may differ, friendship is the only foundation on which trust and common understanding can be built to achieve Global Goals.
The IB BWB Club at Towheed Iranian School is led by Shirin Karimi. Here is Shirin's vision for her BWB Club:
“The most important goal of mine is to make people around me realize that even the smallest things they do to make a change matters. If they picked up a piece of wrapper from the ground or helped to clear the ocean, it is of consequence. Saying one nice phrase to their classmate or siblings makes a difference. My team and I are here to share our experience with others and bring people together for the same purpose to build a healthier and safer community. Our ambition is to relieve the stress level students experience, especially during this pandemic, and help to contribute to the saving of Mother Earth by controlling personal production and consumption.”
The non-IB BWB Club at Towheed Iranian School is led by Harry Haghani. Here is Harry's vision for his BWB Club:
"My team has decided to focus on Climate Action as our local action project. We believe that it is essential to raise awareness while taking action. For raising awareness, we will be using social media platforms to spread awareness, and we plan on collecting data from our local groceries to estimate their daily plastic bag usage. We also wish to survey people on why they do not use reusable bags over plastic bags. Based on our surveys, we will find a viable solution to replace plastic bags with reusable bags."
Both clubs will be moderated by Ms. Negin Saadat, the IB CAS Coordinator.
"Working with the BWB clubs provides an opportunity for us to practice the IB attributes and develop the students' social and educational skills. As a moderator of BWB Clubs at TIS, my motto is "team up to dream up".
