International communication is about connections, not linguistic perfection. Using a foreign language to express ideas and feelings can be challenging for many, but let's remember that building a global community is impossible without a common language.
English has become the most commonly used language worldwide, which is why many international organizations, including Global Education Destinations, choose it as their operating language. When students come from different countries, they bring diverse values and perspectives. To understand each other clearly, it is essential to practice using the common language. Being patient and asking for clarity is the key. Persistent practice brings more clarity, and more clarity brings better understanding and cooperation.
Here is the reflection from Jenny Cheng (Taiwan), one of the Pioneer Nominees from the Power for a Better Future Buddies Without Borders Online Forum, on her efforts and the connections she built with her international teammates in our global community:

In this forum, I really improved my English ability, especially speaking. Since I am so willing to express my own view, I need to organize some words that I didn't use that often and that really made me feel confident and thought more clearly than before participate in the forum.
In fact, I learn a lots about the topic "Power for a Better Future Forum." Before attending in the forum, I thought the issue about "power" is quit simple. And yet, during the forum, I search a lot of informations for personal tasks and team presentations. I found out that the topic is not that simple, it includes many elements from difficult fields. And also, these research made me understood more about the current situation of countries around the world, and also, my own country!"
Through persistence and effort, we can create a brighter future. We invite you to join us in recognizing Jenny and all ELL students for their incredible work in bridging cultures and nations. The outcome report explains how we nominate BWB Pioneers in the competition.
