Local Action in Taiwan - Vote for Your Favorite BWB Club

As we wrap up the 2025-2026 BWB School Year at the end of August, we look back on what the young changemakers have accomplished in the past 12 months. BWB Club members have met online every month to learn about each other's cultures and debate issues that matter to them, such as "Should school uniforms be mandatory worldwide?" - an interesting topic proposed by the Tsai Hsing BWB Club in Taipei, Taiwan.

More importantly, each club had a chance to design and complete a Local Action Project. Now you are invited to vote for your favorite Local Action Project submitted by the top-scoring BWB Clubs. Today, we will highlight the project from Tsai Hsing BWB Club, led by Patricia Lin, and moderated by Ms. Wendy Li and Mr. Randolph Kao: the Second-Hand Books Exchange project:

"The primary objective of this project is to promote sustainability and responsible consumption by encouraging the reuse of books. At the same time, the project aims to preserve and highlight the enduring value of printed books in an increasingly digital era. This initiative is important to both the club and the wider school community, as it fosters environmental awareness, reduces waste, and strengthens a culture of sharing and resourcefulness.

To achieve the objectives of the Second-Hand Books Exchange project, responsibilities were assigned to four teams: Event Planning Team, Art Design Team, Promotion Team, and Supporting Crew, with a structured timeline across eight weeks. Overall, the project achieved its intended objectives by fostering awareness, engagement, and sustainable practices. It also provided valuable experience in leadership, organization, and problem-solving for all members involved." ~ Tsai Hsing BWB Club
