Our Sustainable Lifestyles Challenge Starts Today

Earth Overshoot Day...Doughnut Economics...what does it mean to live a "good life?" These are just some of the topics on Day One of My Sustainable Lifestyles Challenge, organized by the United Nations System Staff College. BWB Clubs were invited to send a team to this global challenge, and here are our team members. See who they are and why they are stepping up:

“...I am of the opinion that there is enough awareness about sustainability today but very less action. Thus, it becomes vital to nudge people to transform the awareness into real life practices by opting healthier choices. It also excites me to collaborate with the UNEP experts and walk towards real change as the future torch bearers. I am ready to bring changes in my food, housing, mobility, consumption and leisure by participating in engaging weekly challenges..." Prachi Agarwal, DRS International School, India

"...I am excited about the prospect of collaborating with others to develop creative strategies and initiatives that have a tangible impact on our communities. I am committed to using my skills and knowledge to make a positive difference... I am ready to step up to the challenge and work hard to make a meaningful contribution to this important cause..." Syed Sarib Mohammed DRS International, India

"... I am interested in the UN Lifestyles Challenge because I wish to give back to my community and the wider world, to ensure I am doing my part to promote and maintain our SDGs. I try to be very aware of my privilege and fortune in receiving the opportunities and support that I do, and I think it is essential to try to use them to help others...."

Krisha Karippail, Green Bay High School, New Zealand

"...This endeavor promises to provide me with a deeper understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their implementation, as well as an experience within the UN's environmental program. The chance to engage more closely with these vital international efforts aligns with my personal and professional aspirations, and I am eager to contribute my skills and expertise to this endeavor..."

Pahal Agrawal, DRS International School, India

"...through the semester in my BWB club, I gained a lot of knowledge and understanding in the SDGs goals, and we also did local action the take action of those goals we want to achieve, and this even gives me the opportunity to really dig into this topic and work with people from other countries to see how we can change our lifestyle..." Jamie Liu, Tsai Hsing Private High School, Taiwan (ROC)

"... I am interested as it provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with others on a project which can benefit a community and a society...." Pouya Mortezaei - Towheed Iranian School, UAE

"...I would love to take part in an event where learning and fun come together. In particular, creating an environment of discussion and sharing international ideas will be beneficial in my upcoming education process. On the one hand, having the opportunity to do a study on these discussions and the information we will learn actually constitutes the learning and having fun part." Zeynep Eker Vali Muammer Güler Social Sciences High School, Turkey

"... Joining the team would not only allow me to deepen my understanding of sustainability but also provide a platform to engage with a community of like-minded individuals who share a common goal. I am eager to be part of a team that is dedicated to making a meaningful impact and fostering a greener, more sustainable world for generations to come."

Charushree Agarwal, DRS International School, India

We are so proud of these young amazing changemakers. Please join us in wishing the team good luck!
