Today, we want to highlight the SSG BWB Club in Japan. From SDGs presentations to donations to local food banks, SSG BWB students have done an incredible amount of work year-round to make the world a better place.
Student Miu Nishitani leads the BWB Club at Shonan Shirayuri Gakuen Junior and Senior High School in Japan from March 2024 - March 2025. The Club Moderators are English Teacher Ms. Miwa Kurihara and Ms. Yurina Motomura.
"We collected 'Messages to Peace', and introduced our club to the visitors. Among other events, we worked with a local organization to promote the food bank and the current situation about food loss. We joined an event called “Fureai Festa”, held at a local elementary school. We made posters and games so that the visitors including kids, parents, elderly people can learn about the foodbank and the current situation of food loss in a fun and interesting way."
Stay tuned for our next Spotlight. We look forward to seeing more countries join our global community to collaborate for the common good and support each other, no matter their location on Earth.
