Many youths want to change the world, but their success often depends on the support and guidance of a caring advisor. As we wrap up the school year, we would like to highlight the educators who have gone above and beyond to help global-minded teens to connect their passion with action.
Ms. Lee and Ms. Chang have been working closely with the BWB Club at Taipei Tsai Hsing Private High School. Under their guidance, the students considered many ideas to support the various SDGs and decided to focus on volunteering at Pack Taiwan, a local NGO, to clean local parks and help at a stray dog shelter so that the abandoned animals may find loving homes. Throughout the year, the Club students also celebrated holidays and shared traditions with their club members around the world.

“As the world becomes smaller with advanced transportation and technology, the distance between people seems to paradoxically grow farther. Conflicts and chaos keep reminding us that true connections are not just meeting people, but exchanging ideas and thoughts to an extent that we start to appreciate the world from multiple perspectives, to an extent that we become humble and grateful and are willing to contribute ourselves to the broader global community. And this, is what makes the BWB experience unique... For the past years, this program has successfully facilitated the club presidents in polishing their leadership skills as well as supporting all the members in connecting to the lovely youth population around the world. The BWB club indeed helped our students grow as a learner, a leader, a global citizen, and most importantly, a person in general."
Annie Chang - English Teacher, Tsai Hsing High School, Taiwan
".... Buddies Without Borders really creates a meaningful and inspiring place for the students around the world to get together. I am honored to work with these motivated and passionate students. I have witnessed their development and growth over time, not only as global citizens but also as a cohesive club. Their active engagement and involvement in the local action, forums, and global chats with solid plans have been truly remarkable. I am genuinely proud of them and their effort has earned recognition, super congratulations!"
