"...Education reforms empower underprivileged communities with essential skills, while judicial transparency ensures impartial legal systems, preventing discrimination and corruption. Equitable policies—fair wages, anti-discrimination laws, and resource distribution—drive systemic change. Together, education, governance, and policy reform transform inequality from an ingrained issue into a solvable challenge, fostering a more just society." ~ Team ZLDC: Peace Makers
From reforming the foreign language programs in public schools in Turkey, to offering second chance education to marginalized juveniles in India, to reducing tuition costs for the underserved in Japan, to providing vocational training in Cyprus, Team ZLDS: Peace Makers proposes that education reform can drive systemic change and contribute to SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
Think Globally, Act Locally. Global Goals can only be achieved by global citizens with local sensitivity. Given the opportunity, we asked the participants what change project they would create in their own community to help make the world a better place, and here are their answers.
