"Conflict, injustice, and weak institutions, is one of the greatest barriers to development of societies worldwide. Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16) focuses on promoting peaceful and inclusive communities, ensuring justice is accessible to all, and establishing institutions that are effective, transparent, and representative at all levels....In both Palestine and the United States of America, strengthening community voices and representation through local initiatives and workshops help contribute to the end of local struggles and the advancement of SDG 16. In Palestine, local actions contribute to therapy and healing after traumatic events and in the state of Arizona, local actions fight to end water scarcity. Though these local actions differ in both Palestine and the United States of America, in both countries they promote peaceful initiatives that support the community and address local issues. Finally, through examining existing local initiatives in both Palestine and the United States of America, local communities create sustainable solutions and promote long-term peace." ~ Team Voices for Change, Buddies Without Borders Online Forum
