"SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions underpins all the SDGs, and indeed, all positive change one can wish to make. For isn’t the ultimate goal of each SDG to make society as peaceful and just as possible? We as Team Fusion and Frets certainly believe so, which is why we have chosen it as our SDG of focus. Like all the SDGs, every country has its own struggles - this is especially true for our team, as New Zealand, Ghana, and the USA are such vastly different countries. Consequently, we decided to each focus on a different SDG that covered the main struggle we thought our individual countries were facing that hindered Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: Krisha in New Zealand is focusing on SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing (specifically focusing on mental health), for in order for a nation to be peaceful, its citizens must be mentally at peace; Ebenezer in Ghana is focusing on SDG 4: Quality Education, as it is essential that citizens understand certain concepts that help them contribute to upholding SDG 16, and that educational opportunities promote equality; and Sumeda in the USA is focusing on SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, because for institutions to be strong and fair, people must have equal access to opportunities, which also helps lessen the socioeconomic class divide in society." ~ Team Fusion and Frets, Buddies Without Borders Online Forum
