The Language of Global Cooperation is Not (Just) ELL. Today's Team Spotlight: Glück Squad

When a team needs to function well across the globe, it needs to establish a common language. English is the operational language that we use: every time a student articulates his or her opinion, either through writing, team meeting or public speaking, they win points. However, English is only the basic tool for effective cooperation. The truth is, people want to work with you NOT because you speak perfect English, but because you share the same values and passion. When friendships blossom, trust and cooperation follows naturally. (Thus the cat in the picture!)

Today we will train our spotlight on Team Glück Squad, which focused on the migration challenge and potential solutions in Germany. The teammates are:

  • LucíaHerraiz Cano - Los Sauces European School (Spain)

  • ArjunRajan - Manchester International School (India)

  • Jenny McCord - Villiers School (Ireland)

  • MaFerOrtiz Sánchez - Bachillerato 5 de mayo (Mexico)

The team also interviewed Marlene Deufert, one of our Forum alumni who is a German, to get her insight. Click here to see the team's research and ideas. Good luck to Team Glück Squad. The winning team will be chosen by our panelists and announced on September 5.

Meanwhile, check back on our blog to vote for your favorite team from September 1 - September 4 for the People's Choice Award.
