Congratulations to Mrs. Kurihara! Global Educators of the Year

Many youths want to change the world, but their success often depends on the support and guidance of a caring advisor. As we wrap up the school year, we would like to highlight the educators who have gone above and beyond to help global-minded teens to connect their passion with action.

Under Mrs. Kurihara's guidance, the BWB Club members at Shonan Shirayuri Gakuen in Japan got behind their clubmate's international internship team's fundraising goal. Successful BWB members earn internship seats and learn valuable professional skills. Megumi Nakamura, the incoming Club President, was part of the Public Health Internship Team. Her Club helped her raise 77,000 yen to purchase medical equipment in Nigeria for people who cannot afford it.

"The unwavering dedication and passion displayed by the young students of the Buddies Without Borders Club continue to impress me tremendously. Their thirst for knowledge and their commitment to making a positive difference in the world are truly inspiring. It is a great honor for me to be part of the Buddies Without Borders Club, which provides exceptional opportunities to our students in Japan. Through active participation in the online forums, our students have been exposed to unique learning experiences alongside remarkable, forward-thinking young individuals. These experiences cannot be replicated anywhere else but within the BWB community. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to this community, as it has granted students an opportunity to have a real impact on the world."

All around the world, Buddies Without Borders students are conducting Local Actions to meet Global Goals. Vote for your favorite project - Your vote acknowledges the efforts of the youth who have worked hard to help make the world a better place.

We encourage more change-makers to step up this summer - we are mobilizing teens to solve the global water crisis: AquaAlliance Online Forum.
