Congratulations to Mr. Akduğan! Global Educators of the Year

Many youths want to change the world, but their success often depends on the support and guidance of a caring advisor. As we wrap up the school year, we would like to highlight the educators who have gone above and beyond to help global-minded teens to connect their passion with action.

Under Mr. Akduğan's support, the VMGSBL BWB Club jumped into action when one of the most destructive earthquakes hit Turkey in February 2023 which impacted more than 13 million people. The students mobilized the whole school by conducting a bake sale to raise funds for the children who lost their homes and families. Meanwhile, BWB Clubs around the world sent their love and solidarity.

"BWB Clubs showed no matter how far we live from one another we could exchange our thoughts and ideas and have the opportunity to get together online, look at the world’s problems from different perspectives. Our school is a social sciences high school and the BWB Club's activities improved my students’ knowledge in different areas. My students also have become much more experienced by studying different Sustainable Development Goals. Thanks to BWB Club I have many club president candidates who would like to lead the Club next year. I would like to congratulate all my students for their hard work and I am really grateful to them for their great effort."
